Today I was thinking about my good friend Pastor Joe Heard. Brother Joe and I have been friends for nearly 20 years now, and I am so proud of this guy. In the last 15 or so years, he has moved into the ministry, eventually becoming a full-time evangeist; he met and married his sweetheart, Missy; he became pastor of a hugely successful church in Florida; and he and Missy became parents. He has quite a resume, and you have never heard anyone preach like this guy can.
Well, Joe came to our home church for a revival, and during that revival he walked over to me, pointed his finger at me and said, 'You have and unrealized dream; God is giving you another chance to realize your dream.'
I can tell you that my unrealized dream has always been to minister in Gospel Music. I love it; I love singing it, writing it, and performing it. Music has always been important to me, and God has seen fit to allow me to do what I love. Not long after Joe made his statement, the calls began to pour in requesting the Gospel Sounds to perform again.
Now, here we are. We have national radio promoters listening to our songs and showing interest. We have plans for a new recording project that is going to be incredible. God is moving and blessing during the services, and people are being touched by Him. What more could you ask for?
What is your dream? What is the one thing you really want to do for God? I can tell you that God stands ready to make that dream a reality. Won't you talk with Him and tell Him what your heart's desire is? He wants to give it to you.
