The last days?

David says:

As I look at current world events, I can't help but think back to the past and all the times I have heard preachers use different world events in time to prove that we are living in the last days. Yet, when you think about it, we don't really need the proof that we are living in the last days; Peter told us that the day of Pentecost was "that which was spoken by the prophet Joel", going on to quote Joel: "In the last days I shall pour out my Spirit upon all flesh". That is proof enough.

So when will the Rapture happen? I don't know, other than when God's scheduled time arrives, I know that it will happen. The events occurring in the world today speak to me of "setting up" things for the rapture to occur. For example:

  1. The alliances that are forming in the Middle East and beyond
  2. The events occurring in the Middle East and beyond
  3. The continuing increase in anti-Israeli sentiment

All of these things point to an original design, a to-do list if you will, that points to the last day events.

What do you think?

Well...honestly i am scared to death of the rapture. i hate it when pastor preaches about it and i have been in endless debates about why i dont love His appearing. Around the church it has kinda become a joke about me not liking it. I want so bad just to grow up and have a family and raise my children. But on the other hand the world is going down the drain fast and if its this bad now, how much worse will it be when my kids are 15 and 16? Scary thoughts. But anyway i dont want the rapture to happen because i want to grow up and be a mommy and teach my kids the abc's and send my daughter to prom and things like that. I know that when Jesus comes back we can all go to Heaven but still...Pastor has told me many times why he thinks i dont like to talk about the rapture and while some of, ok most, of it is dead on I think one of the main reasons is because i dont understand anything about the end times. Its SCARY!!!! The book of Revelation is sooo weird. I just have to pray when it comes to the end of the year and thats where we are suppose to be reading in. And then when people do studies on it and I ask questions i dont even know what to begin to ask because its just all so symbolic and yea its just weird. But anyway Br. East this is what i think about it lol.

David says on 6/2/2008:

Kaylee, a lot of people are fearful of the end days because there has been so much disagreement over what the scriptures say and what the actual meaning is of the images shown in Daniel and Revelations. Of course, the reason all of that is so vague and cryptic is so we won't be able to determine the day our Lord will return.

My personal belief on when it will happen is this: when God, Who knows all men's hearts and their future choices, sees that there is no one else who will accept the message of the cross, the rapture will occur and His attention will turn toward Israel. I may be way off-base with that belief, but that's what I think. As long as our hearts are right with Him, we have nothing to fear; for He will protect us.

In fact, I think that's the purpose of the rapture - to catch away His church and protect them from the bad times that will come.
