What a great month!

Hello to all our friends! This is the seventh "issue" of our email newsletter. If you don't want to receive the monthly newsletter, please click here and put "Unsubscribe" in the subject line.

What a great month April has been! We have been incredibly busy, and the Lord has been blessing us. It's so exciting to see what He is doing in the church today.

We kicked off the month with the fine folks at Trinity Fellowship Church of God in Indianapolis with a morning service, and later that day went to the Rawles Avenue Church of God with Pastor Ron Polly, also in Indianapolis. The day was a full one, but we had a great time at both churches. There was such a great Spirit in both churches, and I always marvel at how you can go from church to church and feel the touch of God at each one.

The next weekend found us at Cathedral of Praise in Evansville, Indiana with Pastor Brett Myers and his congregation. We really had a lot of fun that night, especially with the addition of Paul Rigdon on rhythm and lead guitar. The Lord really moved in this service, and we all left there feeling blessed.

The following weekend was a whirlwind, the first of its kind for the Gospel Sounds. We started the weekend off with a Saturday night singing at the Spiceland Pike Church of God in New Castle, Indiana. Pastor Randy Shinolt really rolled out the red carpet, as well as our posters all over the place! Everywhere we turned there was another Gospel Sounds flyer. God really moved that night, and we had souls coming to the altar during the service. It was a wonderful thing to experience. We were also at Spiceland Pike in the Sunday Morning service, and we saw God move again with more souls praying at the altar.

After the Sunday morning service, we packed everything up and went to Shelburn (we call it "Shall Burn") for a Sunday evening service with Pastor Jerry Adams and his congregation. My goodness, what a service we had there! Those Shelburn folks have lived up to the challenge Brother Paul gave them during our revival there. The Sunday evening service at Shelburn was just a good-old shouting time. We had several come to the altars during the service, and as Pastor Adam's people were praying, and we were praying with them, we saw the Lord move mightily in our midst. It was the perfect ending to a great weekend of singing and praising God. We're going to be back at Shelburn in June, 2008 for the Southern Indiana Camp Meeting service. If you can get there, you won't want to miss that one!

We ended the month of April at the Oak Hill Christian Center in Evansville, with Pastor Randy Hopkins and his congregation. They have a great work going on there, with a focus on reaching people for Christ. They have a beautiful church with a group of people who really love the Lord and His worship. We had a great time of worship with them, and the Lord brought some to the altars for prayer.

So as you can see, the month of April was very hectic, but we enjoyed it all. At each place we have been, we have seen the Lord moving to reach out to His children in an effort to comfort and uplift them. I believe that is what the Gospel Sounds' music and ministry is all about; we sing and minister to give hope to all of God's children that, if they can but hold on for a little while longer, they will receive a huge blessing. We pray that God will continue to use us as we press forward in His work.

We have many events coming up that we are excited about. For a full list of our upcoming events, please see our events page, or set up your free account at Gospel Gigs and get email notices of where we are going to be. Our Gospel Gigs website is: http://www.gospelgigs.com/showpage.asp?groupid=gospelsounds.

God is really blessing our ministry. We thank Him for everything He is doing on our behalf. Each day that goes by we see more doors that God is opening for us. Please continue to pray for us; our desire is to minister to God's children. We've seen so many who have been struggling, but God is still there to help.

Finally, we appreciate all of you who continue to pray for us as we build this ministry. Thank you so much for being a part of it. If you'd like to make a donation to Gospel Sounds Ministries you can do that via our website as well.

There is much more to come. Be sure to watch our website for more updates and information. Until next month, God Bless You!

Aileen Avery Benefit Concert

It's always difficult for me when I hear of a child who is ill. I love children, and when I hear of a child who has been stricken with a serious illness, it always breaks my heart. Aileen Avery is a three year old child who has been stricken with cancer, and she is very ill. I can't imagine the load that her parents and loved ones are carrying, and Aileen's community of Providence, Kentucky have put together a benefit event to raise funds to help the family's need. This event is scheduled on Saturday, May 17, 2008 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM. There will be lots of food, fun and singing, some of which will be provided by the Gospel Sounds. We'll be on stage from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM, and we are asking everyone who enjoys the Gospel Sounds to come out and help us help Aileen and her family. This event has grown so much that they have moved it to a larger location at the New Life Christian Worship Center, located at 630 Highway 41A South in Providence, Kentucky. Please come out and help us support this little girl. Note: This is an outdoor event. Be sure to bring a lawn chair with you - no seating is provided.
We need your help...

We love and appreciate our fans so much. Your prayers are very important to us, and we thank you for your support. I want to ask this month that you help us pray about a couple of things: first, we have decided that with the amount of traveling we are doing, we could save money on gas by obtaining a twelve or fifteen passenger van with a small trailer to travel in. With gas now over $3.50 a gallon, it costs nearly $200 to fill up three of our vehicles. If you would pray that God would make a way for this to happen, we would appreciate it. If by some chance you have a twelve or fifteen passenger van you would like to donate to Gospel Sounds Ministries, we would be very grateful.

Second, we are trying to raise funding to record a new album. Recording costs are very expensive, and we could use your help. Please pray with us that God will bless us with the funding to complete the album project. If you would like to make a donation to that project, you can do so via our website (just click the "Donate" button on the front page). If you prefer, you can send a check or money order to Gospel Sounds Ministries, 8437 Bell Oaks Drive PMB 119, Newburgh, Indiana 47630. We appreciate anything you can do.
