A Time of Refreshing

The Lord really blessed us during the month of May. We enjoyed some time with our families and friends as this month wasn't as busy as the last several months have been. Please don't misunderstand; I'm not complaining. I love it when we are booked up and going steady, but everyone needs time to recharge and refresh.

This month marked Eddie and Lori's 30 year anniversary, and all of the Gospel Sounds were there to share the event. Eddie and Lori's daughters, Christina, Carrie, and Cindy threw a big anniversary party for the couple. We all had a great time, and the girls had put together several photo albums with pictures dating back to Eddie and Lori's courtship and marriage. During the party, Eddi and Lori renewed their vows, and it was a beautiful thing to see these two wonderful people of God renew their original committment. Bobbie has placed photos of the event in an album on the "Photos" page of our website - be sure to check it out.

We visited with Pastor Gordon DeTalente and congregation at Soul's Harvest Church for a three-day revival. My, how God moved during those services. Eddie preached his heart out, and the Lord really used him to minister to people. It was something to see Eddie under the annointing. Pastors, if you are looking for a minister that can really bring revival, then you should have Eddie come and preach for you.

On May 17th we were pleased to be involved in a benefit singing for Aileen Avery, a three year old child who has been stricken with cancer. We had a great time with the other singers who were there to support this family. Over $3,000.00 was raised during this event, and I know the family really appreciated it. The girls from Shelburn, Indiana (Shall-Burn) had a little trouble finding the place, but they finally made it. Thanks to all the Sounders who came out and helped us support this family.

Speaking of Shall-Burn, we are really looking forward to the Church of God Southern Indiana Camp Meeting coming up on Sunday, June 8, 2008. We're going to have a great time - be sure to come early if you want to get a seat.

Attention All Evansville Area Sounders!

Don't miss the revival services at Independent Pentecostal Assembly, located at 312 Mulberry St. in Mt. Vernon, Indiana, starting on Sunday, June 15, 2008 and running through Wednesday, June 18, 2008. We are praying for good things to happen during this revival, so come out and join us.

Introducing: Paul Rigdon

Paul Rigdon is one of the most gifted musicians I know. He can sing, play, and write some of the prettiest music you will ever hear. Paul is currently working with the Conquerors Quartet (http://www.conquerorsquartet.com/), but when he's not booked with them he has been playing lead guitar for us. Paul really adds a lot to our sound, and we know you'll enjoy his talent, his music and his ministry - yes, he is a preacher, too! We are thankful that the Lord has sent Paul our way.

Seeking a Bass Guitarist

Yes, we are very sad to announce that David Heard will be leaving the Gospel Sounds soon. David is quite an accomplished Minister of the Gospel, and now that the Gospel Sounds are getting busy, David can no longer afford the time away from his own ministry and family. We will miss having David with us, but we understand that he has to do what the Lord wants him to do and we will pray that God's blessing will follow him.

David's impending departure means that we need to find a bass guitarist to step in when David leaves. If you, or someone you know, would be interested in playing music and ministering with the Gospel Sounds, please drop us an email and let us know.

A Note of Thanks

I want to say thanks to my wife, Bobbie, and to Paul Jacob's wife, Debbie. Bobbie does so many things for us, such as setting up and running our product table at each appearance, among others. Her latest project is updating the Photo Album page of our website, and she is doing an awesome job. Debbie Jacobs has been a huge help to us on the business end, and her advise has proven to be invaluable. Gospel Sounds Ministries wants to say a big "THANK YOU" to both of these ladies. We couldn't do what we do without your support.
